Diversity Statement
Ulverscroft Camera Club is committed to encouraging equality, diversity and inclusion of all within the club activities. In doing so we will aim to eliminate all forms of unlawful discrimination, thereby ensuring a safe and inclusive environment.
The club will not tolerate any form of discrimination as identified in the Equality Act 2010 under the nine protected characteristics of age, race, sex, religion, sexual orientation, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, maternity and paternity leave. Furthermore, behaviour which is deemed as bullying or harassment will not be tolerated and will be dealt with in the same way as discrimination.
This policy applies to all its dealings with its members as well as other engaged by or who work with the club. It is expected that every member will conduct themselves in an appropriate manner, which can be characterised by:
• treating others with dignity and respect
• having an awareness of the effects one's behaviour may have on others • communicating openly and honestly
• helping each other to achieve objectives
The committee are expected to set an appropriate standard of behaviour and to lead by example, ensuring that others adhere to the clubs policy and promote our aims and objectives in relation to equal opportunity, diversity and inclusion.
The committee will investigate any complaints of unlawful discrimination made by members, employees or other third parties in relation to Ulverscroft Camera Club and take action where appropriate. All complaints will be investigated in accordance with the clubs complaints procedure and the complainant will be informed of the outcome.
